South Tenerife International Airport Parking

Facilities at the airport are adequate to meet the needs of all arriving and departing passengers, and include a parking area for motorists arriving in their own vehicles. Parking is also charged at a reasonable price at Tenerife South Airport.

Passengers driving to the airport and making use of the parking facilities at Tenerife South Airport will find that the terminal building is easily accessed from all areas of the island. The airport is located on the southern coastline, approximately 60 km, or 37 miles from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital city, and in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona. Several very popular holiday resorts are also located nearby the airport, such as the Los Christianos and Playa de las Américas, as Tenerife South Airport is located in the heart of the tourist area of the island. Just to the east of the airport is Médano, and to the south-west is Las Galletas, with its natural volcanic beaches. Tenerife is home to the world’s third largest volcano.

The TF-1 motorway, which runs along the eastern coastline of the island, and links to the capital city, provides Santa Cruz de Tenerife access to Tenerife South Airport. The TF-1 also connects to the TF-5 in the northern part of the island, which is the access road for Tenerife North Airport. Passengers from the west of the island will follow the minor road 6 until reaching the TF-1 motorway. Motorists will park their vehicle in the parking area just opposite the terminal building of Tenerife South Airport, which is within easy walking distance of all airport facilities as well. There is only one parking area at the airport; therefore it is used for both short term and long term parking stays.

At Tenerife South Airport, there are approximately 800 parking spaces available for passengers and their private vehicles, while a further 81 spaces are provided for buses. 39 microbuses can also park at the airport, and there is space for 540 vehicles that belong to the car rental companies that have offices within the terminal building. By rented car is a very popular way to explore the attractions of Tenerife, and the car hire companies of Avis, Hertz, National, Sixt, Alamo, Europcar and Auto Europa are present, along with a few others as well.

Motorists can park for the first half an hour at the airport free of charge, after which parking fees will be charged. Upon entrance to the parking area, a ticket is collected, and this ticket is inserted into the automatic payment machines in order to pay for the period of parking once you are ready to leave the airport. The machines are located in the arrivals area. Passengers must keep this ticket in a safe place, as if it is lost, a fine of €53.00 is charged, which is equivalent to four days of parking at the airport. Each day of parking up to the first four days is charged at €10.60, while from the fifth day, each day of parking is €8.50.

Special parking spaces are provided at Tenerife South Airport for disabled drivers. There are twelve in total, and they are all positioned as nearby to the terminal building as possible. The terminal of the airport is fully accessible for disabled passengers, and passengers with reduced mobility challenges, with pavement ramps, elevators and adapted toilet facilities. Passengers in wheelchairs will also be able to easily use the public telephones and information desks at the airport. Anyone who requires further assistance with departure procedures can contact their airline company and specify their requirements. Staff at the airport will then be available to tend to your needs. Passengers in need of assistance should arrive earlier than usual, and should go directly the meeting points for PRM customers. When parking at Tenerife South Airport, it is advised to display your disabled permit badge.

Further parking options include an area used exclusively for the dropping off of passengers on a departure flight. This area may not be used for parking; therefore it is not possible to wait here for arriving passengers. However, the main parking lot does allow the first half hour for free. The area for dropping off passengers is found next to the public car park.
